Day Programs

Day Support Options

PrimeCare, Inc. serves a number of individuals in our Day Support Options Programs, located in Waterbury, Wolcott and South Windsor.  Day Support Options Programs offer individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a daytime program Monday through Friday, where they can be involved in volunteer services, socialization, community and in-house recreational activities, and practice activities of daily living skills.  Caring and supportive staff members work with the individual one on one, as well as in group settings, to help each participant reach the highest level of independence that they are capable of.

Group Supported Employment

PrimeCare, Inc. has Group Supported Employment Programs located in Waterbury and Wolcott.  These programs provide an opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to obtain and maintain meaningful employment on a work crew in community based businesses and industries. 

Individuals are accompanied to the work sites by job coaches who provide on the job training in areas such as housekeeping, laundry services, store stocking, maintenance, product assembly and grounds keeping.  The programs give individuals an opportunity to contribute to their community, enhance their self-esteem, earn a paycheck and get recognition for their accomplishments.  In addition, the support staff provides the following services:

Job Development and Placement
On-Site Support
Social and Vocational Counseling

Supported Employment

PrimeCare, Inc. also has Supported Employment Programs which are located in Waterbury and Wolcott.  The programs provide an opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to obtain and maintain jobs in their community within local businesses and industries.

The Supported Employment Programs are for individuals with highly developed work skills and have offered placement in areas such as retail, food preparation, piecework, store/shelf stocking and dishwashing.  The programs give individuals the opportunity to contribute to their community, enhance their self-esteem, earn a paycheck and get recognition for their accomplishments.  In addition, the support staff provides the following services:
